8. Common sense of exit and entry cards

The exit registration card is an exit permit certificate attached to the passport, and it is also an important data for China's exit and entry administration authorities and border inspection authorities to master the situation of exit personnel and implement the management of the exit and entry information system.

At present, there are two types of exit registration cards issued at the same time as passports.

1. Exit registration card with "A" prefix. This card is in duplicate with the same number. One is light blue and the other is pink. After applying for an entry visa at the Chinese Embassy in China, the cardholder does not need to go through any formalities at the exit and entry administration department of the public security organ.

2. Exit registration card with "B" prefix. This card is in one copy and the color is yellow. After obtaining the entry visa, the cardholder must change the exit registration card with the "A" prefix number at the original issuing authority or the authorized issuing authority before leaving the country. At the same time of issuing a valid passport for five years, the subject column of the attached exit registration card shall be filled with "settlement" or "short-term exit" respectively. No matter what kind of visa you get, you do not need to change your exit registration card for the purpose of "settlement".

Those who hold the "short-term exit" cause exit registration card and obtain the residence visa must fill in the application form, submit the opinions agreed by the unit or the police station, cancel the residence certificate, and can replace the "residence" cause exit registration card with the "residence abroad certificate". If you change your country before you leave the country for the first time after receiving your passport, you can change your registration card with your visa without providing other proof materials (excluding the passport valid for one year held by the participants of the overseas tourism team)

Before December 1, 1996, the exit registration card with the prefix "A" issued with the passport does not need to be renewed and remains valid. The licensee who holds the exit registration card with the prefix "A" for the purpose of "settlement" does not need to replace the exit registration card regardless of the visa obtained. If the holder holds the exit registration card for other purposes other than "settlement", if he obtains the "settlement" visa, he must fill in the application form, submit the opinions agreed by his unit or the sending unit, cancel the residence certificate, and replace the exit registration card for the purpose of "settlement". If he obtains the "settlement" visa for foreign purposes, If it is inconsistent with the reason of the exit registration card, the holder shall replace the "A" exit registration card with a valid visa for the reason of "short-term exit".

No matter how long it takes to leave the country after returning to China, whether the reason for leaving the country has changed, and whether the country of destination is the same, as long as the person holding a valid passport and the valid entry visa of the country of destination, there is no need to apply for an exit registration card.
