Market overview:

Bangladesh's textile and clothing exports to more than 100 countries, with an export value of more than US $16 billion, and its clothing exports have taken the lead in South Asia and other Southeast Asian countries. In 2010, Bangladesh has become the fourth largest clothing exporter in the world. There are 7500 textile and clothing factories in Bangladesh, and 75% of the fabric yarn needs to be imported every year. In order to accelerate its economic development, the Bangladeshi government attaches great importance to attracting foreign investment. The government of Bangladesh has issued a series of financial and non-financial incentives and policies, including tax holidays, the elimination of all non-tariff barriers, the duty-free import of capital machinery, and the provision of cash assistance for fabric exporters from the country. Bangladesh has also followed a very free and open import practice. Bangladesh has a stable currency and low inflation rate.

Bangladesh government's textile industry economic stimulus plan:

The Bangladeshi government announced an economic stimulus plan of 1 billion Taka to support its garment industry affected by the global economic recession, including subsidies for the license fee of the self-owned power station of the garment factory. The garment factory with an annual export income of 3.5 million US dollars will be given a cash subsidy of 5%, the manufacturer without the self-owned gas power station will be given a 10% discount on the electricity fee, and the yarn export will also enjoy a cash subsidy. At present, Bangladesh ranks fifth in the export of ready-to-wear to the United States, closely following China, Vietnam, Indonesia and Mexico.
